GARDEN WALK & PLANT SALE SATURDAY, JUNE 20

The 12th annual Garden Walk & Plant Sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. We will again be having a Plant Sale at Pratt Elementary School.

The Garden Walk is free. You will be able to tour around 20 local gardens that cover a variety of garden types: perennial and annual, vegetable and flower, shade and sun. Besides viewing fronts of yards, you may be invited to view waterfalls and ponds in some backyards!

Expect to see innovative use of space and growing conditions, especially shade (which Prospect Park has in abundance).

The Plant Sale will be located outside Pratt Elementary School (66 SE Malcolm Ave.), two blocks south of SE University Ave. on Malcolm. This Plant Sale is a fund raiser for the programs that the Garden Club supports such as: Programs for buckthorn removal and Pratt Elementary School.

Prospect Park is located west of Hwy 280 along SE University Avenue or along SE Franklin Avenue, with a landmark of the Witch's Hat Water Tower as part of the neighborhood.

Pick up a map on the day of the Garden Walk at Schneider Drug (3400 SE University Ave.), Cupcake (3338 SE University Ave.), or Overflow on SE University Ave or Signature Cafe (130 SE Warwick St.) or Pratt Elementary School. Please tell all your friends. See you Saturday, June 20 10 am - 3 pm, rain or shine!

PROSPECT PARK OVALS AND TRIANGLES

The City of Minneapolis is proposing to remove or modify the landscaped triangles at the intersections of Clarence and University, and Malcolm and University, for the Central Corridor Light Rail Project. PPERRIA (Prospect Park East River Road Improvement Association) must take a neighborhood position on this matter at its June meeting. City, metro, and state officials, as well as residents will address the issues. Join us and participate in framing the PPERRIA position. Monday June 22, 2009 Prospect Park United Methodist Church 22 Orlin Ave. S.E. (Corner of Malcolm & Orlin Aves. S.E.) 7:00 p.m.
